Summary: Pervasive smell of mothballs in our room, on the 3rd floor up a narrow staircase, (as there is only one other set of occupants were there no bedrooms lower down?), Most of the property has no A/C so very hot and stuffy. Our room did have A/C but a very noisy unit out of the window. Pillow cases were creased and looked like they had been slept on, black hair in the sink. Breakfast was awful. Had to be at a fixed time chosen the night before (even though there was only one other set of guests). No choice just whatever strange food was made that morning. Just wanted a normal breakfast we are not fussy. Managed to find a great bakery round the corner where we ate breakfast. Overall very shabby- peeling paint, scratched woodwork and cracked plaster. It is massively overpriced for the experience. Nice art, books, and tranquil reception rooms. I feel like I want to refund when I look at where I could have stayed for half the price.
