Come and enjoy the beautiful sunsets in Port Elgin. This two bedroom cottage is located across from Miramichi Bay and is nestled in a small cul de sac with several other cottages. Port Elgin is a beach town with lots of fun things to do with the family. Port Elgin beach has summer concerts, flea markets and fireworks most long weekends. There is a wide paved walking/biking trail that is 6km long and runs from Port Elgin along the shores of Lake Huron to the neighbouring quiet beach town of Southampton. Southampton is a great place for families with small children. The beaches offer shallow entry for quite some time into the lake so you don't have to worry about the water being too deep for the little ones.
The area offers the Bruce Children's Museum, a BMX track, library, MacGregor Provincial Park and lots of great shops and restaurants. Come explore Lake Huron with the family!
Our cottage is located just a three minute drive to the main Port Elgin beach or if you choose to use the biking trail you can be there is 5 to 10 minutes. We are equally as close to the South Street beach in Southampton.
Our cottage is located in a quiet area with wide paved roads that are great for the kids to roller blade, bike ride and skateboard. There is also a large recreational field beside the cottage as well as wooded walking trails and sand dunes. Enjoy the back deck while BBQing and enjoying a drink. The kids will be anxious to start roasting the marshmallows for the smores around the fire in the backyard. Bring the family dog so it can also enjoy the family vacation.
This is a two bedroom cottage with one Queen size bed and a double bed in the other. There is also a pull out sofa bed in the living area to allow sleeping in the cottage for six. We have a large open kitchen with most amenities from home; fridge/stove/microwave/toaster oven/coffee maker/Tassimo as well as the Propane BBQ on the back deck. The cupboards are filled with all the dishes and utensils you will need. We have Satellite TV with DVD Player and lots of movies for you to enjoy. There are ceiling fans in all the rooms as well as air conditioning. The cottage is well maintained and has new windows and doors. This is a housekeeping cottage which means that you will receive the cottage clean but you are expected to leave it as you received it. All the cleaning supplies are in the cottage for that purpose. You are required to bring with you all the bedding you will need during your stay. The cottage has plenty of pillows and blankets. You will also need to bring your towels and dish cloths etc. There is coin operated laundry facilities available on the cul de sac for your use.
