During the winter, the cottage experiences significant snowfall, and snowshoeing is possible and there is easy access to the Gusborough and Antigonish County snowmobile trails. There are several nearby waterfalls, and excellent mountain biking on the College Grant Road trails and nearby Keppoch Mountain recreational area.
