This authentic Montauk cottage is a cozy, quiet, and picturesque spot to hang your hat while you explore Montauk's legendary beaches, restaurants, trails and serenity.
The cottage is a rare survivor from the 1950s when only simple, seasonal getaways dotted the hills along Old Montauk Highway. Today, the cozy two-bedroom, one full bath hideaway has been tastefully upgraded with a careful focus on maintaining its original charm and vintage aesthetic. It sits nestled amidst mature bushes under the canopy of a giant oak in its quiet corner of the Hither Hills neighborhood, which allows for quick walks/bikes to the ocean beach along Old Montauk Highway, or town.
A larger owner-occupied home has since been added as an extension onto the cottage (thankfully the cottage was saved!) but both maintain completely separate keys, entrances, and exits, with no sharing or comingling of interior or exterior space.
The fully climate-controlled cottage has modern mini-split heat pumps pushing both AC and heat and is complete with all of the creature comforts for a family of up to 4 (maybe 5 with young ones) or up to two couples, including internet, a smart Roku TV, outdoor grill, stacked washer/dryer, and a kitchenette with a coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave, air fryer, toaster oven, and refrigerator/freezer (a traditional stove/cooktop is not present).
The two bedrooms are a Queen and twin bunk set (with ladder and upper bunk safety railing) with a large selection of books and games throughout for quiet or rainy days. The central common area has two full sized couches separated by a large coffee table and a door leading to the quaint back yard. The cottage itself has two convenient entrances plus a 3rd emergency exit if needed. Parking for a maximum of two cars is conveniently located in front of the cottage, so no long walks to come and go.
Before booking, please ensure that the cottage is the right choice for you and your party based on the following. Our cottage is in a peaceful, serene section of Montauk: the famous Hither Hills neighborhood, so only quiet, calm occupancy is permitted. We have an All-Quiet policy (no loud voices, pet noises, music, etc.) after darkness and before 9am that must be respected at all times and conveyed to all occupants. And strictly no smoking or more than two cars at any time. Additionally, to minimize administrative issues, we do not offer refunds, so please be sure of your plans before booking.
