This Gem of a place is only 15 minutes from Nelson. Tucked in the woods, you are surrounded by quiet serenity and stunning views of Kootenay River. The house was built from reclaimed bridge timbers, with thick straw bale walls. This house emanates a castle like character and is an excellent escape from city noise. Quirky and unique decor, some adult themed art. Nothing too crazy just some silly stuff that make us laugh. Perfect for quiet getaways or celebrations with your favourite people.
You can often find elk on the driveway, deer in the yard and occasionally a friendly but cautious bear putzin through. We are surrounded by forest and nature.
We are on 18 acres and it backs on to Smallwood forest. We are close to awesome hiking trails mountain biking and snow sports in every direction.
You can see the Glade ferry crossing Kootenay river from the mezzanine. We are about 3000ft. elevation, so extra snow for winter wonderland.
This place is real Kootenay, real secluded but you are only a 15 minute drive to Nelson. Nelson is full of adorable boutiques, charming coffee shops and fantastic restaurants. You'll be able to find everything you need in the Queen City plus more!
Guests have access to entire home.
We are often away but either us or the manager will be available for assistance.
The neighbourhood is called Beasley. It’s cute, small, with hobby farms spread throughout and nothing but smiles and waves from anyone you pass on your way through.
Getting around is easy. The road from the house leads you almost all the way to the highway, with only one turn to be made on your way down. Nothing complicated.
The driveway is a 1km long dirt road. It’s a bumpy ride and not suitable for sport cars. We do it in classics car and motorcycles but be cautious that a lowered or exotic vehicle isn't ideal.
In winter a 4x4 or AWD is HIGHLY recommended. The road will be plowed but there’s some sections a 2WD will struggle on snow days.
No smoking in doors and be careful outside as we’re in the woods.
