Where there was once a 1950's salmon fishing cabin perched along the picturesque Medway River, there is now a secluded, recently finished and equipped couples' retreat. Rarely does one arrive at a destination that is so comfortable and welcoming that one simply wants to sit down, relax and stay there. Welcome to the River Shack!

Having stepped inside, you will find yourself in a spacious, open concept living space; with warm rustic finishes, unexpected luxuries, and large opening windows facing south to the river from every room.
The fully equipped kitchen features retro-style appliances; including frig/freezer, gas stove, double sinks, microwave and stunning butcher block counters. Everything you could need to prepare a gourmet meal or simply marinate steaks for the BBQ is ready for you to stay for a while.
The cozy living room boasts a wood stove for cooler evenings and sliding glass doors onto the wide deck for fresh air. For romantic ambience, why not enjoy both at the same time?
The generous bathroom features a hammered copper sink, a walk-in rainfall shower and plenty of storage.
Finishing off the space is the bedroom, with two sets of windows facing the river. Curl up in the comfy Queen-size bed, among the fluffy pillows and extra blankets and duvets, to watch a movie on DVD, or stream your favorite series on wifi
With a long private waterfront, there are plenty of places to hang outside:
Relax in the padded deck chairs while the BBQ is doing its thing, or to sip your morning coffee.
Drift off for a mid-day nap in one of the riverside hammocks, with the sounds of babbling water and bird-song as your lullaby.
Roast wienies or marshmallows over the open fire pit, while sipping hot coco or mulled wine.
Dangle your feet in the river, off the end of the dock to refresh yourself after a rejuvenating sauna (from which you will never miss a view of the river). Don't forget to admire the new plantings in the rockery that cascades down from the separate sauna building.
Or, just sit back in the Adirondack chairs and watch river life float by... It's mesmerizing! Maybe tie a fishing line to your toe and catch dinner... Fishing is still great at the River Shack!
When you have had enough of the outdoors, play a board game by the fire or simply relax or read a book. Time stands still at the River Shack!

Close to Mill village general store and café, Port Medway lighthouse, town of Liverpool and surrounding beaches/Beach meadows, Summerville and Carter’s beach. Local dining just a short drive away, Lanes Privateer Inn Liverpool, White Point and the Quarter Deck in Hunts Point. Bangs falls is just up the road, among many others wonderful waterfalls. The Charming little village of greenfield is about 15 minutes away. Great Fishing, great swimming the list is endless for fun and adventure!
