1 Bedroom Cottage in Trenton
This beautiful, family-owned, oceanfront property boasts 440ft of private ocean frontage and is situated on 3 wooded acres. Dayton Point Cottage was purchased by my grandparents (the Daytons) in 1956 when they began summering here from Cheshire, Connecticut. Though smaller than a house, it has all the comforts and charm of a home. It sits on its own little peninsula along one side of a cove on beautiful Western Bay, overlooking the mountains of Acadia National Park.
We recently updated the cottage with all new windows (each with an amazing ocean view), new floors, and a small gas stove in the front room.
We limit our guest capacity to 4. We are very protective of our special cottage!
The cottage sits (literally) 20 feet from the high tide mark. One can watch the tide come and go with its ever-changing color and wildlife. The cove is home to many loons, osprey, eagles, seals, and porpoise. At low tide, the careful observer can see crabs, anemones, sea stars, hermit crabs, and an array of other tide pool dwellers.
Kayaks can be launched right at the beach which is down a well kept (mowed) sloping path from the cottage. Bring your own, or local rentals will deliver right to the cottage.
We are only able to offer a few available weeks per year as most are reserved for those who return to Dayton Point annually. We invite those of you have not yet been to this special place to be our guests!
