Our family summer home is a true gem in the idyllic Silver Bay beach community, adjacent to the Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores resort, with access to it's own private community beach. This is the first time that we are listing this cottage with limited opportunity for rent, having utilized it exclusively with family until now. We hope that you will enjoy long days of fun and sun, rest and relaxation on Lake Erie's Sherkston Shores, and experience the magnificent moondance and stunning sunsets on Canada's famous southern coast. We offer a warm and charming, three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage with a relaxing patio oasis. It's the perfect summer home-away-from-home with all of the comforts you would expect for you and your family to make lasting memories. A family-friendly cottage that appeals to mature guests with a short 3-minute paved walk to the beach. Easily accessed directly off of Highway 3, you enter into another world of historic cabins, nestled amongst mature Silver Maples, along this warm, shallow, sandy bay. Ride your bikes along the Friendship Trail connecting Fort Erie to Port Colborne, the southern link of the 140-km Greater Niagara Circle Loop, a scenic circumnavigation along the Niagara River and Welland Canals joining Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. There is so much to do around here. It's a short 20 m drive to world renowned Niagara Falls and 30 m to Wine Country in Niagara-on-the-Lake or The Jordan Bench. Just 10 m to restaurants, entertainment and shopping in famous Crystal Beach or friendly Port Colborne. There's even a family operated grocery store just around the corner with a butcher shop, bakery and fresh produce! There are 3 public boat launches nearby (Crystal Beach, Sugarloaf Marina and Miller Marina) with some of the best perch and walleye fishing in the world. Just 1 1/2 hours drive from Toronto, ON and 1/2 hour from Buffalo, NY. Why are you sitting in traffic for hours heading north to get eaten by black flies? Why are you jammed in at Sherkston Shores resort? Just get down here and see for yourselves...and if you cant shut it off then there's even a quiet office with high-speed internet allowing you to work from the cottage (if you insist!) and enjoy vacation at the same time. Our best advice for when you're here - just pack your cooler, roll to the beach, lay in the sun, play in the water, and relax until the sun goes down...then come back later with a blanket and a bottle of wine to enjoy the moon and the stars. That's what we do. :)
