Travel Purpose: business

Positive: 24hr Front Desk made check in easy.

Negative: After check-in, I took my keys and luggage to the room I was given, I discovered that it wasn't the multi-room BnB that I had paid for. It was only a small motel room with a bed and a small bathroom. I returned to the front desk to complain and was told that it was only a temporary room. Apparently, my room would not be ready until 8pm (check in is at 2pm). I question the "Temporary Room" explanation because this would have been something that they would tell me when sending me to the original room. If I had not complained, I'm confident that the small motel room would have been my room. I was tired after an 8 hour drive through a snow storm and was planning on making a meal and relaxing. Instead, i returned to my temporary room. As I was searching for a restaurant, there was a knock on my door. The receptionist said that my room was ready which was odd because they had just told me that the caretaker had accidentally taken the keys to my BnB to the airport with him and would not return until 8pm. It was only 4:30pm. When i went to the new room, it was much better but still a downgrade from the one that i paid for. There was no washer or dryer or desk/work area. I was too tired to argue so I just moved in. In addition to the issues at check-in, the room also had no smoke detectors and the patio doors had no locks. The leather couch was also de-laminating resulted in white leather pieces all over the floors and my clothes. To be fair, I did not mention the room issues to the front desk as there was language barrier. I ended up booking a room elsewhere and leaving a day early due to security and safety concerns. Little effort would be required to make this listing much better. Ensuring that the client gets the room that they pay for is one. Being honest with the client is another. Ensuring safety (smoke detector) and security (patio door lock) is the third. Also, the room desperately needs a new couch.

Summary: More honest customer service is required. Also, safety and security issues need to be addressed.
