This gorgeous 1 bedroom, fully appointed cottage is your perfect home away from home while you explore the Oceanside area of Vancouver Island. Located in the heart of Beautiful Qualicum Beach, the cottage is ideally situated within walking distance of our charming village center, golf courses and our famous sandy beach. For those who seek the solace of our coastal forests Living Columns will be your ideal choice as we are nestled on three sides by the breathtaking and historic Heritage Forest. This protected natural oasis is the perfect place for a morning walk or evening stroll. The cottage derived its name from the famous Naturalist, John Muir who was so enthralled with the giant California Redwoods that he claimed that "they were as breathtaking and inspiring as any European Cathedral", referring to them as "living columns". I could not agree more.
Living Columns is located on our property and perched on an ancient ravine that is home to Western red cedar and Douglas fir, some as old as 800 years. Meandering through these giants is lovely Beach Creek a critical habitat for Salmon and many woodland creatures. Your private deck offers brilliant morning light and intimate evening shade with comfortable, oversize furniture and a cozy fire table to welcome you home after your adventures.
I am very proud to use all natural cleaning products to ensure that your stay is safe as well as feeling good that the environment is being protected. Respect for the natural environment is important to us as I want to leave a legacy for future generations. You can be rest assured that all Covid protocols are being followed in our maintaining and management of Living Columns.
