This ocean front cottage is the perfect seaside getaway. Located in picturesque Park Corner, it is the ideal location to enjoy breathtaking views, ocean breezes and stunning sunsets. There is direct access from the cottage via a private boardwalk (2 minute walk) to the exclusive, quiet, and family-friendly sand beach at Cousins Shore. Local PEI families love Cousin's Shore as it is less crowded and considered a local treasure. Our family owned cottage, Wild Rose Beach Cottage, is located on the first road up from the beach and is very private. Take as many trips to the beach as you like and no need to look for parking places or pay for park passes!
The cottage is full of natural light with picture windows that showcase the beautiful scenery (it is a nature lover and bird watcher's delight). Ideally suited to smaller groups, it includes a medium sized main floor bedroom with queen bed with access to the outdoor deck. There is an open loft area that divides into two rooms - one with two twin beds and the other with a double bed. The rooms are open to the living/dining area below (no doors) and can be accessed via a staircase located in the living room. Be advised that the stairs are a little steep so ensure guests staying upstairs are mobile. There is an updated bathroom with shower on the main level near the main floor bedroom. Amenities include high speed internet, heat pump (for air conditioning and heating), outdoor shower (perfect for sandy feet), fully equipped kitchen, mid-sized refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer. We also include beach chairs, games, BBQ and outdoor seating on our wrap around deck.
We are centrally located on the Island's North Shore. Guests enjoy the tranquility of staying beach side with the convenience of being a 10 minute drive from the town of Kensington which offers grocery and liquor stores, restaurants, Tim Hortons coffee shop, pharmacy, and craft shops. Other nearby attractions and activities include deep sea fishing in New London, world-class golf courses, cycling, the renowned summer-long music festival (Under the Spire) in the historic St. Mary's Church and the Anne of Green Gables museum which is minutes away. Foodies will enjoy purchasing fresh seafood, farmers markets, local butchers and growers and dining in restaurants like the Blue Mussel Cafe in North Rustico.
Nearby Cavendish (20 minutes away) offers famous beaches, walking/biking trails, water sports, kayaks, deep sea fishing, golf courses, Sandspit Amusement Park, Shining Waters Children's Park, Cavendish boardwalk, Tourist Marts and numerous restaurants. There's also a SOMMO music festival happening in July with Mumford and Sons and Maggie Rogers and Cavendish Country Music Festival.
Rentals are booked on a weekly basis, from Sunday to Sunday during the peak season (June 25 to Sept 3.). It is a smoke-free environment and pets are considered upon request. Beach access is available from the cottage. Wifi available and a land line for local calls.
