Bayview is nestled on a wooded peninsula in Indian Neck at the head of Buzzards Bay,
seemingly miles from civilization but close to amenities. The home is located on a two
acre lot facing the ocean with magnificent views of Woods Hole and the Elizabethan
Islands. It has its own small pocket beach and nearby a larger association beach
perfect for swimming and bathing. There is an association tennis court across the
street.
Indian Neck and the area around Bourne cove are areas of historical significance where commercial development has been non-existent and the land has been preserved in its natural state. In addition to beach activities there are numerous hiking trails and quiet roads for cycling or walking. The property features a patio facing the ocean, separate outdoor kitchen with fire pit, and a private third floor deck off the master suite with incredible views.
The home itself is a classic shingle style with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It
has been completely renovated within the past year. There is a modern chefs kitchen
with butlers pantry, all new high-grade Cafe brand pro-series appliances (6-burner gasrange, electric convection oven) whole house central AC, deluxe bathroom with
soaking tub and steam shower, and room to sleep eight. The third floor features a
glamorous zen-like master suite overlooking the ocean with connecting study / yoga / fitness room with peloton bike. The third floor deck with seating is accessed from the master suite via large sliding doors. The second floor features two large bedrooms. The family suite on the East side has two twin beds and queen size temperpedic pull out couch.
On the West side of the second floor is the den and children's room containing a
twin XL trundle bed, oversized couch with new 65” OLED 4k smart TV set atop a
beautiful electric fireplace cabinet. Both rooms have commanding views over the bay.
A beautiful large bath with soaking tub and steam shower complete this level.
The main floor features an open concept space for living and dining with warm
comfortable seating and expansive views out bay windows to the sea. This is a tranquil space with large granite dining table, peninsula bar, cozy seating in the living area and a top of the line Jotul propane fireplace that is a delight when the weather turns cool.
There is significant passive solar heating in the home making it a perfect destination for spring and fall when other costal locations have become cold and unwelcoming.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a smart concept indoor-outdoor bath with attached outdoor shower that allows easy access to and from the beach. There is a sheltered outdoor shower that opens into a completely contained bathroom with adjacent indoor shower.
Beyond Indian Neck just a five minutes drive away is the town of Wareham with a
number of restaurants, ice cream parlors and shops. Fifteen minutes West is the town of Marion with its delightful town center, yacht club and boat basin. A fifteen minute drive East brings one to the Cape Cod Canal and Bourne Bridge where one can access Cape Cod and all that it has to offer. Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket are accessible from either New Bedford via high speed ferries or Hyannis Port on the Cape.
